What does God Think About?

Written by Joe Dardano

A close reading of the Bible will educate us on the thought processes of God concerning what is most important to Him in this life. One central theme in the mindset of God is the primary importance of people, the jewel of creation. God loves people. God wants people to prosper and grow and increase. God wants human beings to flourish in this life so that this positive momentum will carry them into the next life with Him. The common thread in living this life of continual blessings is following God’s laws. We must live in His way to reap the blessings He offers. There is no shortcut to God. The path must be The Path laid out by Jesus Christ, who is the Way, Truth & Life. In conjunction with this truth, we are encouraged to believe that the heart of God is always in tune with His creation. God is invariably thinking about the generations to come and how they will fair on earth: “Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord” (Psalm 102:18) The salvation of souls lies at the heart of God’s thought process as He wants all to be saved. Recall the parable of the Lost Sheep, where the shepherd leaves the 99 to find the one missing. That is the way God thinks and feels. So if God is concerned about future generations (Psalm 102:28), then we are encouraged to direct our lives similarly.
