The Kingdom of God involves trusting in God, letting go of resentments by forgiving all who have harmed you and faithfully moving forward in love through service to others. But many who are “on the outside” who are just “kicking the tires” on Jesus wont see what the Kingdom of God reveals because their hearts are not prepared, nor rightfully nourished to see what God has in store. That is why we read in Mark 4:12, “they may indeed look, but not perceive, and may indeed listen, but not understand.” Only after those interested in Christ are prepared to forgive (John 20:23), the door opens to allow the light of Jesus Christ, the light of Truth to illuminate their minds and souls to truly understand the knowledge about the fullness of the Kingdom of God. After this happens, the recipe of belief is turned upside down to follow the logic set out by God. You see Thomas the Apostle only believed after he saw proof of the Resurrection. In his mind, the reasoning was “I will believe it only until I see it.” Jesus turns this logic upside down by pointing out that true joy and happiness and inner fulfillment, is first believing then seeing. First believe what God is telling you, even though you do not hear any sound; you sense it through an interior communication (Psalm 19:1-4). One must take that interior communication on faith and move forward believing what God is telling you will unfold–just like Noah believed the flood was coming so he went forward to build the Ark. As a result, the Godly method is “believe first, then you will see the results” (John 20:29). This way of living brings fullness of life within us (John 20:29) because it ties our daily obligations, concerns and commitments to an intimate relationship with God our Father. When we witness Him guiding and providing in all circumstances, we radiate an inner joy knowing He is faithfully by our side.
