How does God deal with us? When we sin, its the consequences of those sins that wreak their ugly head to punish us. God does not punish but the invisible hand of the effects of sin is the vengeful force: “for the measure you use, will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38) God is not the angry Father looking over our shoulder ready to punish. God pours out great love over His creation: “He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing” (Zeph 3:17). God loves us so much that he jumps for joy over us and celebrates with song. Pslam 142:7 offers another glimpse into God’s mindset: “Bring my soul out of prison, So that I may give thanks to Your name; The righteous will surround me, For You will deal bountifully with me.” God is not scrooge, but a perpetual lover who provides in overflowing manner.
