We were created unique, in the image of Christ. Human beings are not indistinguishable creatures as commodities from an assembly line. We are not 100% created from a standard mold like a cookie cutter; surely we are designed with common features to all humanity, but we are also different from one another: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.” (Jeremiah 1:5) There is an invisible connection between us and God from the time in our mother’s wombs, whereby an intrinsic knowledge exists within us that the almighty creator knows us uniquely like nobody else knows us. This idea is expressed again in Psalm 139:13, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.” These differences are not only physical but also from living unique lives in our individual environments, from lived experiences which shapes our souls. That being said, God has individualized plans for our lives. We are not created to walk aimlessly on earth with no goals or purpose: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10) This divine individuality inherent in our creation is a rock solid defence against all concepts that attempt to trivialize our humanity or desecrate our unique creation in Christ (Mark 10:6). We are free to create our lives as long as our plans coincide with God’s will. Anything that defies God’s will goes against nature and divine reason.
