God the Father created the universe and mankind and He keeps creating everyday through sheer love and pure decision to act. There is no hesitation in the Father’s will to create goodness for humanity. In the book of Genesis, “God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.” God wanted light to shine our way before us; ultimately the universal light that brings salvation to all became incarnate in Jesus Christ. The birth of Jesus Christ, signalled by the shinning star, is the light in darkness that follows the creation of light at the beginning of human time. Darkness is hatred, pride, lust and every kind of evil imaginable. Light is goodness redeeming the evil commited by the human race. When we see light, we need to act quickly to move toward it. Those who follow darkness and live in darkness seek death. Those who pursue light seek life. The apostles saw miracles, healings and prophecies in Jesus Christ. They mulled over all these events in light of what they understood in the Word of God. But when, they were invited to join Christ’s ministry, they jumped at the opportunity without hesitation: “And He said to them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. Immediately they left their nets and followed Him” (Matthew 4:19-20) The apostles immediately left their nets and followed Jesus Christ. They acted quickly without lingering over the opportunity. Are we waiting to jump into the Kingdom of God today, with one foot in the world and one foot in the Kingdom of God? If you feel you are treading water, its time to jump in with both feet. Sounds risky? Here is a quote from award-winning motivational speaker and author Dennis Waitley that may alter your perspective: “Life is inherently risky. There is only one big risk you should avoid at all costs. That is the risk of doing nothing.”
