Life is meant to be dynamic, evolving, growing and moving toward heaven. Growth is the essential characteristic of the Kingdom of God. Anything that stifles growth and reproduction works against the will of God. Just as it is reasonable for people to express concerns about threats toward the existence trees, whales and other parts of creation, it is even more reasonable to be passionate about protecting the center of creation—life in the womb. A thorough reading of Sacred Scripture brings this point to the surface. It lies in the heart of all people to experience God for real. In the Bible it reads as a yearning for “the living God.” (Psalm 84:2) That sense of yearning is a desire to taste life at its fullest. And when followers of Christ journey to experience the true essence of God, the promise of eternal life draws them into the Kingdom of God. And within the Kingdom of God, life is precious–all life is precious, especially human life: “Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young.” (Psalm 84:3) Having and raising children is paramount to living in the Kingdom of God to its fullest. The sacredness of the human family as a sanctuary to teach, raise and educate young minds is crucial for a healthy family and for a thriving society.
