If you are a Christian and a target of hate, this is not new. Enemies are all around us and always have been around us. That is a fact. Yet accusers have no power when we are shielded by the grace of God. We have within us divine power and protection empowered by mighty angels who surround our spirits with invisible armor. Satan the father of death was defeated at the Cross by the selfless love of Jesus Christ. We need to remind ourselves of this victory. We need this reminder because in life we experience injustice and condemnation from unbelievers and haters. Psalm 109 is a lesson on how evil will try to bring us down, even when we do good. If you are feeling discouraged that your good is attracting hate, dont feel alone in this persecution (see Matthew 5:10). Throughout this relentless attack, we need to maintain poise and not allow evil to bring us down to return evil for evil. We need to return good for evil, stay the course and place the love of Jesus Christ above all things. We cannot fall into sin because the evil one has lost the battle and wants to take down everybody he can. You need to decide today that he will not take you down, remain in constant prayer and persevere in the steadfast love of Jesus Christ: “Help me, O Lord my God! Save me according to your steadfast love! Let them know that this is your hand;you, O Lord, have done it! Let them curse, but you will bless! They arise and are put to shame, but your servant will be glad! May my accusers be clothed with dishonor; may they be wrapped in their own shame as in a cloak! With my mouth I will give great thanks to the Lord; I will praise him in the midst of the throng. For he stands at the right hand of the needy one, to save him from those who condemn his soul to death.” (Psalm 109: 26-31) The key is to keep praising God in the midst of attacks. Job put in motion the same tactic and he came through in victory.
