Abundance is more than enough. And more than enough creates room for possibility. It moves aside weeds for fertility and growth. Abundance creates space for things to happen; its a path for the impossible to become possible: “But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house. I will bow down toward your holy temple in the fear of you.” (Psalm 5:7) We enter the house of God through overflowing and abundant love. There is no other path. If God remains angry toward us for our sins, then that path to Him would be blocked or suffocated. Unwavering love is like an open invitation that is never revoked, welcoming the sinner to dine with Jesus. The Father of the Prodigal Son who is waiting for His lost child is a pertinent example. What would happen if God withheld his love for us? What would happen if God cursed us for our sins? Look at what happened to the fig tree when Jesus cursed it (Mark 11: 12-25).
