Did you ever consider living life by preparing for death in this life? I mean, if we put into our minds, that some day will will perish on earth, how will that effect the way we live today? Consider Philippians 1:21, “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Then in 1 Cor. 15:22, we read “For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.” The purpse of following Christ is to be made fully alive in Him; to experience life at its fullest. (John 10:10) Remember that the God of Christians is the God who advocates and affirms life: “He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.” (Mark 12:27) So if we peek ahead at the end of the line, telling ourselves, “our time on earth will finish, that is guaranteed” and if we place our hope in eternity with Jesus Christ, then we will certainly order our lives here on earth to prepare for the afterlife. We will be quicker to forgive; to have mercy; to give to the less fortunate. We will love more than hate. We will give more than take. We will have a better world all around.
