When you read about gender issues or race relations in the media, make note that this dialogue is invariably cultivated to attract readers. Media is a business. Making news is part of the business of media, which is why most of this news is controversial. It is meant to stir emotions; and when emotions are stirred, people read news. The more people read news, the more revenue is generated. But if you are a Christian, the divisions of race and gender do not matter. When you are born into the Kingdom of God (John 3:3), you become a new creation (2 Cor.5:17). That new creation is a mystical existance that binds people into a brotherhood and sisterhood in Christ, no matter what colour or gender of each person: “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Gal 3:28).
