If you are confused about your journey in Christ and the road you need to walk on, then reading the Holy Bible is a great cure for a crisis in faith or an attack of doubt. Then, if you are clueless on where to begin, I suggest reading Mark 4. The theme in Mark 4 is continued growth in faith until we reach heaven. The rhythm of our lives on earth should include a path that is identified with constant striving to be like Jesus Christ, which includes an attitude of seeking growth, renewal and constant spirtitual awakening. Stagnation in our earthly path is stagnation in our walk in faith. Ideally, our lives should be a reflection of continual sharing of the Good News to bring fruit in the lives of the people we meet: “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.” (Mark 4: 26-29) Like the parable describes, we mostly do not know the effect of the Gospel story when shared with others. Our job is to spread the Good News and let the seed of faith grow within the lives of others we meet. It is a mystery but this process keeps us humble because it is God who does the internal work to draw people closer to Him.
