Prepare for War Everday

Written by Joe Dardano

The Kingdom of God invloves war. Yes, we are at war in the spiritual realm and Christians need to be armed daily to prepare for battle. The fight is in the invisible realm of the spirit where our minds are attacked by evil forces. God teaches us to be prepared and fill our minds in the Word, which serves as our armour of protection and shield of salvation. The tribe of Ephriam, descendants of Jacob & Joseph, did not listen. They became complacent. In Psalm 78, their story is told as they “were armed with the bow, (but) turned back on the day of battle.” (verse 9) The Ephriamites forgot the laws of God and lived in sin. In the end, God “rejected the tent of Joseph, he did not choose the tribe of Ephriam but chose the tribe of Judah.” (verses 67-68) This Old Testament passage verifies our need to fight daily for our spiritual health. It encourages sobriety and wakefulness to the reality of evil all around us. Our lifestyle needs to be filled with action and preparedness on a daily basis or else we slowly sink into ways of sin. This teaching is most fully explained in the New Testament passage in Ephesians 6: 10-17: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Read the Word of God daily, pray unceasingly and remember to include in your prayers renunciation of evil. When you renounce satan, make sure you vocalize these prayers. Demons are powerless against the spoken Word. People can be fooled by evil powers, thinking they are permanent and everlasting; but in reality the forces of evil are false powers because the Power of The Spoken Word of God nullifies the devil completely. It works every time.
