Just Do the Right Thing

Written by Joe Dardano

Talk without action is cheap. Action is power. The Bible teaches us the Parable of the Two Sons: “There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’ ‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went. Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go. Which of the two did what his father wanted? “The first,” they answered…(Matthew 21:28-32). This story illustrates the power of action. It also shows the depth of God’s mercy, granted to the son after he changed his mind and did the right thing. Here God teaches us to repent. We all make mistakes from time to time. But the important factor is to look into our souls, correct our mistakes and then take the right action. If we do God’s will, He grants us mercy for repenting. That being said, are you promising yourself and/or others to do certain things but are frozen by procrastination? Are you treading water right now? Be encouraged by this parable and do the right thing—-for you, for others, for God.
