You Get What You Give

Written by Joe Dardano

Waiting & expecting things out of life is the wrong approach. Expectations are premeditated resentments. Built up resentments breeds unhappiness because we are constantly waiting for some magic pill to cure our ills in life. Life gives me what I offer to it. This is clear from the Bible: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38) The Scriptures does not tell us to stop and wait for things to happen. We need to go make things happen. God’s vision implanted in us will come to fruition in time if we act in faith. Like a seed planted into the earth, it does not sprout instantly. That seed needs sunlight, water and time to grow. Our ideas and plans need the same treatment. While we act to water and shine light on these ideas, we need simply to keep nourishing them in faith and the results will come.
