We Cause Things to Happen

Written by Joe Dardano

Whether we know it or not, we produce results from our thinking and acting–our way of life. Even if we are complacent and inactive, we produce results from our complacency. We are producing fruit, cultivating consequences from our lives whether we know it or not. The issue is whether we are producing good or bad fruit.  In Matthew 7: 16-20, the Word of God says, “You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.  A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.  Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.” So you see from this passage that everyone produces fruit, real world results from ways people lead their lives. These are the consequences of peoples’ life choices. Most people are not aware of this. They believe that results do not flow from their daily decisions, but they in fact do flow. The Bible makes this clear. The reality is that we make things happen and our chief concern must be whether we are producing good or bad fruit. Are we unleashing good into the world or bad? The choice is ours. Lets be intentional how we live our lives.
