Look Forward Always

Written by Joe Dardano

God instructs us to look forward, and keep looking till we reach Heaven. Heaven is forward-looking, not backwards. In the Bible, we are encouraged to place our hearts to the good that the future will bring, like the next generation. We must nurture the next generation, something that is quite foreign to this “ME” generation where everything is “now” and “instant.” Prosperity is good for us and for our children: “May the Lord give you increase, both you and your children.” (Psalm 115:14) Here in this scripture you see the importance of the welfare of our children. Increase, prosperity and having and stewarding more is good, even in the co-creation of children. Recall Genesis 1:28, “Be fruitful and multiply,” where God instructs us to bring more children into the world. This teaching is ever absent form mainstream Christian teaching in our time. In the Kingdom of God, the Lord delights in the creation of more souls on earth, who have opportunity to hear the Good News and make decisions for Jesus Christ. God is ecstatic about having more souls live in His massive mansion in Heaven for eternity (John 14:2). Understanding the Kingdom of God in this way, we can discern that “fertility is good” because growth, prosperity and increase are part and parcel of God’s plan for all of us. We were not created to grow to a certain point and then stop; the path is ongoing till we reach Heaven. The decision to say “yes” to more life is one of the greatest gifts one can offer God and the surrounding community.
