In My Father’s House

Written by Joe Dardano

Are you grieving that your home is too small? In John 14:2 Jesus offer us a promise, “My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you.” To arrive at our heavenly mansions, we are encouraged to believe in this truth: on earth, its not where we live but how we live that matters. If we forgive, return good for evil, turn the other cheek, share our faith, build our house on rock, love our enemies, help the poor, heal the sick, and love Jesus with all our hearts then heaven will open its door to us. If we accept Christ as Lord and savior, our ticket to heaven is assured. It does not matter if we currently live in a ghetto. Its where we are living in our hearts that is the real test. Eventually, our hearts–if right with God–will bring us to our heavenly mansion for eternity. What an amazing promise to hang onto with hope. No matter how bad it gets, life is better moving forward. We see these words more fully expressed in 1 Peter 1: 3-7, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,  to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,  so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
