Blind to Miracles?

Miracles, wonders and extraordinary events happen in the Kingdom of God everyday. Can you see them? If not, its because you need to plunge deeper into your faith in the power & majesty of Jesus Christ. If you are an unbeliever, you will not see any great works. In Psalm 111:6, we read that “He has shown his people the power of his works.” Those who truly believe in Jesus Christ will see the power of God at work in their lives. Unbelief will blind people. This point is affirmed in Mark 4:10-12, “When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables. He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that,‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding.” Those outside the Kingdom of God need first to repent and offer their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ. That decision of the will then changes one’s perspective and opens eyes to the wonders of God. Then all things spiritual makes sense, as if all the dots appear connected. Otherwise, you will just hear words and they do not penetrate within. The door to penetration of the Word of God lies in the will and the heart. That door is opened through sheer desire to allow Jesus Christ into your life. Jesus always wants to come into your life, no matter how much you have sinned. God will forgive you, if you let Him: “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” (Revelations 3:20) At the end of the day, all this requires faith. The old adage of “I will believe it when I see it,” does not work here. That was Thomas’ attitude when Jesus Christ rose from the grave. He would not believe until he saw the wounds. What is required is for us to believe first, then we will see the truth (John 20:29). Then we will see miracles. Ultimately the old adage needs to be turned around to “I will see it, when I believe it.”
